About Soccer Wordle
Mystery Player is QuizMad's daily soccer wordle (some call it footballdle): one footballer a day, eight guesses, and clues from every wrong answer. Green means a match, yellow means close: same continent, a neighbouring position or an age within two years. Arrows tell you whether the mystery player is older or younger, and whether their shirt number is higher or lower.
Letters mode: the classic Soccer Wordle
Prefer the original Wordle? The Letters tab hides one footballer's surname, between four and eight letters long. You get six tries: green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the name but elsewhere, grey isn't in it at all. Repeated letters are scored the same way Wordle does it. After four misses you get the player's club and nation as a clue. It's a separate daily game with its own streak.

Stuck? After four wrong guesses you unlock the player's first senior club. After six, you get their initials. Solve it and share your grid with no spoilers, then try Football Connections or the Messi quiz.

How do you play Soccer Wordle?
Type any player's name and pick them from the list. Each guess shows whether their nation, league, club, position, age and shirt number match today's mystery player. You have 8 guesses.
Is this the same as Footballdle?
It's the same idea. Footballdle, soccerdle and soccer wordle all describe a daily guess-the-footballer game. Ours is called Mystery Player.
Which players can come up?
Well-known players from Europe's top five leagues and big names elsewhere. You can guess from a wider list of players to narrow it down.
Is there a letter version, like the original Wordle?
Yes. Switch to the Letters tab to guess a footballer's surname in 6 tries. Green means the right letter in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the name somewhere else. Any letters are accepted, so you can use guesses to test letters.
When is there a new mystery player?
Every day at midnight your time. Everyone gets the same player on the same date.
Are the clubs and shirt numbers current?
They're updated after each transfer window. Ages are worked out on the day of the puzzle.
