About Football Connections
A new football connections puzzle every day at midnight your time. Each one mixes players, grounds, nicknames and football history into four hidden groups. Play past puzzles any time; only today's counts toward your streak.
How to play
Tap four tiles you think belong together, then press Submit. Get it right and the group locks in with its link explained. Groups run from yellow (straightforward) to purple (devious): expect red herrings, and tiles that seem to fit two groups. You can make four mistakes. Shuffle the board if you're stuck.

What is Football Connections?
A daily football word puzzle. You get 16 tiles (players, clubs, grounds, nicknames, years) and have to sort them into four hidden groups of four.
When does the puzzle change?
At midnight in your own time zone. Everyone plays the same puzzle on the same date.
How many mistakes can I make?
Four. If three of your four picks belong together, you'll see a 'One away' hint.
Can I play old puzzles?
Yes. Use the previous puzzles links to practise. Practice games don't count toward your streak.
Is this the NYT Connections game?
